Portal for information on the industrial mining sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Congolese state-owned mining companies – specifically Gecamines, Sokimo, Sakima, Miba and Sodimico – remain important players in the mining sector, controlling a significant number of mining permits and holding shares in several joint ventures. Since 2011, these state-owned companies have been at the centre of heated controversy following secret sales of some of their shares to offshore companies. This section brings together information on these sales as well as other documents on the role of these state-owned companies in the mining sector since independence.

	Dans cette contribution des acteurs de la société civile du Haut-Katanga sur le Projet de rapport de cadrage ITIE-RDC 2017 les auteurs présentent des propositions d’amélioration de ce rapport après l’avoir analysé lors d’un atelier tenu à Lubumbashi du 23 au 26 septembre 2019. Ces propositions d’améliorations portent notamment sur les point ci-après: le cadre juridique et la fiscalité, l’octroi des licences et des contrats, la participation de l’État, l’exhaustivité des sources d’informations, la gestion des revenus et des dépenses, la Contribution du secteur extractif à l’économie ainsi que les transferts infranationaux.
